Home » Evidence Technician Unit
Some of the duties are collecting physical evidence, taking photographs, dusting for fingerprints, and examining fiber evidence. The ETU utilizes different pieces of equipment such as vacuums for fibers and hair, plaster for moldings of shoe and tire tracks, a kit to take dental molds of a victim’s teeth for identification and other purposes, biohazard suits and portable lights. Extensive training and hi-tech equipment are the essential tools for this unit. The Crime Scene Scope enables the detective bureau to detect forensic evidence that otherwise might not have been discovered. Twenty-year-old crimes can now be re-opened and re-investigated using new technologies and equipment. The Evidence Recovery Unit is currently staffed by Lt. Scotty McGaha, Det Sgt. Blaine French and Det Sgt Mike Cook along with Chief Deputy Danny Thompson And Lt Col Larry Coy.
